Support For Parents

When your child is struggling with school, their mental health or is going through difficult times it can be a very stressful and emotional time for you as well.

There are lots of things we can do to support you through this time.

Counselling

If you find it difficult to talk in a group, or if you have things going on that you would prefer to talk about 1-1, we offer confidential counselling for parents. This can be about anything that’s affecting your life, as anything that’s troubling you will have an impact on your children as well, and we want to support and help you all. This could include mental health issues, anxiety, depression, bereavement, drug or alcohol issues, domestic or sexual abuse, or anything that you find difficult.

Counselling sessions, can be face to face in school, online or by phone, depending on what works best for you.

One-to-one support

If you have concerns or an issue you would like to learn more about to help support your child, but don’t feel you need ongoing counselling, we offer 1–1 sessions, maybe just one or depending on what you feel you need. This could be about particular issues such as self-harm, or special needs such as ADHD or Autism, or issues occurring in your family. This can take place in school, online or by phone.

If you feel you would benefit from counselling or some one-to-one support, please contact Jenny on 07804 270790, email jmaydon@mmap.kent.sch.uk, or use the Contact Us form.
