What is Intensive Mentoring Programme?
IMP is a specialist 12 week adolescent intervention programme for young people in Key Stage 4 and is the school mentoring arm of the Maidstone and Malling Alternative Provision.
What is the aim of the programme?
The aim of the programme is to be an advocate/mentor for the young person and make key recommendations and formulate a pathway for those in crisis in education so they can achieve their full potential and remain with mainstream education. The programme involves an intensive period of mentoring and assessment. This is where educational and social difficulties are addressed.
Sessions are informal and are conducted on a one-to-one basis within the school setting. We work with multi-agencies to ensure all the support on offer can be provided to the young person and their families.
By working with a holistic outlook the young person can grow with SMSC guidelines and develop self-esteem, self-wroth and respect for themselves and each other.
